Putney may be nowhere near the sea, but the Thames-side suburb has more in common with coastal Poole than just the letter P. In both areas it's perfectly possible to find luxurious detached residences with large gardens and easy access to watersports in either the river or the sea - and it's worth noting that properties in Poole are roughly half the price of those in Putney.
